Wired News: High Court: Porn Law Too Broad

While I agree there are problems enforcing such a broad law, some of the reasoning being used to argue against " upholding the order stopping Attorney General (John) Ashcroft from enforcing this questionable federal law,... is questionable in itself. I don't believe "artists, sex educators, and web publishers" are the people who are actually being protected from jail time. Lets face it, we are talking about trying to shield children from pornography and those who use pornography to entice the vulnerable.
I doubt the aforementioned groups need online pornography to talk about sexuality.

Apple - Mac OS X - VoiceOver Spoken Interface

Apple has announced new features that target users with disabilities, specifically visual and learning disabilites. As I've said before, these types of enhancements which are initially targeted at people with disabilities will eventually benefit everyone. Why wouldn't everyone want a spoken interface, at least for some things.

I also have to say, I like the design of the page that this technology preview is on. Very nice logos and layout.

Here's another example of the kind of athletes that make up the Paralympics. This team won 18 gold medals in the last Paralympic games in Sydney, Australia. I cannot stress enough -- these are serious athletes the world needs to see. What they do is thrilling, and their stories inspiring.

Paralympic Latest News

If anyone thinks the Paralympics is not on equal terms with the Olympics, it's time to think again. If you read this article, you realize these athletes take these games very seriously. I think it's time for the major networks to take on the Paralympics and show these games to the world. It's happening in England. I say, "Why not here in the states"?

Weblogs.com Authors Gain Reprieve

It's a good thing Weblogs.com Authors were able to Gain (a) Reprieve. When I think about ChooseAbility.org having this kind of problem, I have to chuckle. I have 55 registered users and only three of them post stories and comments, including myself. We have been contemplating shutting down the site ourselves recently because of inaction. I, too, have had health concerns just like

Dave Winer. I've had a rough winter. A few lung infections and the flu has slowed me down, but other than that, I'm fine. If it weren't for my friend Artoi, chooseability would only have half the new stories since January. We're moving along at better pace now, and I can only see improvement on the horizon. Can anyone tell me where I can find 3000 users to scare if I pulled the plug for any reason - just joking! I really can use some contributors though.

People should have known Mr. Winer would back everything up. He is a bit too smart to screw over all those users.

It would have been cool to go to the New York Subway Photography Protest I can't believe there is a ban on subway photos in the works. I just don't see the point, I mean, if anything photographs should be welcome in the subway.

Wire News: Scientists Try Trump Politics.

When Scientists Try to Trump Politics, its all about the research. If you read my blog on the Michael J Fox interview, he talks about
Stem cell debate. I realize the need for regulation, but people are losing sight (or have none to begin with) of the ultimate goal. Scientists are interested in using research in order to find cures of many different diseases. Try speaking to those afflicted with these conditons. If science can do something to help millons of people become healthier, it makes no sense to stifle the inevitable. It seems the only way this kind of research will ever be allowed to flourish is when every one in the world has a family member directly affected by a disease only "stem cells" may cure.
